Hello Marlins! I'm Coach Sam! This will be my first year as Head Coach, my fourth year as a Coach with MPST and my sixth year as a Red Cross certified Lifeguard. I am currently a sophomore at The University of Texas at San Antonio. During my time at university, I am majoring in Business Marketing, competing on the UTSA triathalon team, UTSA swim club and I also swim off campus with Alamo Area Aquatics Association. Before college, I attended James E. Taylor High School where I swam on the Varsity Team for 4 years and swam club for Power Aquatics. When I was younger, I struggled with swimming, but overcame my fear of water, so now coaching is so special to me because I am able to share my passion for swimming with the community. I spent a total of 12 years swimming summer league, six of them as a fellow Marlin. One of my proudest moments was winning the 100 IM at the All Stars Meet! In my free time, I enjoy photography, cooking and spending time with my friends and family. I am so excited to coach y'all this summer! Go Marlins!
Hey Marlins! I'm Coach Becca! This will be my 3rd year as a coach for the Marlins and I have been swimming for the team since I was 5 years old. I have been a lifeguard for 5 years now and a swim instructor at the YMCA for 3 years. I am currently working on getting an associate degree in arts at Lone Star College and plan to spend a few years traveling the world after I graduate. I have always had a huge love for swimming and helping coach others on how to swim, I love being around the water and seeing others grow a love for it. In my free time I enjoy hiking, swimming, and photography. My proudest moment was when the Marlins won the championship trophy for the first time! I am so excited to watch all of our swimmers grow and can't wait for a fun filled summer. Go Marlins!
Hi Marlins! My name is Audrey Darnell and this is my 3rd year on the Marlins Swim Team. I am on the JV swim team at Katy High School. I have been swimming since I was four years old and it’s still my favorite thing to do. Last year I was a volunteer coach and I can’t wait to see all of the returning swimmers and meet all the new swimmers. My future goals are to go to med school and become a doctor. Hey Marlins! I’m Haley Looper. I have been swimming since I was three and volunteering for the last three to four years. This is my first year coaching and I hope to help teach the kids how I was taught when I first joined the team. Go Marlins!
Hi Marlins! I'm Amy Pretorius, I have been swimming with the Marlins since I was 6. I am on the varsity swim team at Taylor High School and recently started swimming with Texas Elite swim club. Last year I volunteered at summer league and enjoyed teaching new skills and helping swimmers improve. In my future I hope to study abroad and head into the major of criminology. Go Marlins!
